Elliott Bay Brewing Company swept four medals at the 2026 Washington Beer Awards, reinforcing its reputation as one of the state's premiere craft institutions. The annual competition brought together more than 150 Washington breweries and cideries, with expert panels evaluating entries via rigorous blind tastings across dozens of style categories.
The neighborhood brewery topped the competitive Belgian Sour and Wild Ales category, securing both Gold and Silver honors. Ambrosia Kriek took top gold honors for its tart red sour base blended with red raspberry and Montmorency cherry purees. Right behind it, De Rode Duivels earned silver, highlighting the strength of the barrel aging program centered at Elliott Bay's Lake City facility.
The brew team also demonstrated versatility in classic hoppy styles, bringing home two bronze medals. The flagship Elliott Bay IPA earned bronze in the American-Style IPA category, while Ride the Cyclone captured bronze in the Juicy or Hazy Pale Ale group.
Founded in West Seattle in 1997, Elliott Bay Brewing Company has grown to multiple pub locations across the Puget Sound region. While local patrons frequent the brewpubs for classic comfort food and fresh IPAs, the 2026 awards highlight the technical mastery of their extended barrel aging program, solidifying their footprint in both traditional craft styles and sour ale production.
