Of 16 Cotton Hollow Road, Naugatuck, Conn., passed away suddenly Saturday September 15, 2007, at the age of 49. She was wife of Daniel D. Labrecque, former employee of Uniroyal Chemical.

She was born March 26, 1958, in Renton, daughter of Carol McFarlane of Des Moines, Wash., and Gary McCorkle of Kennewick. Connie was an avid reader and worked part time for Barnes & Noble Books and Walden Books. She enjoyed her furry companions Iggy, Rufus, and Teddy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She graduated from Mount Rainier High School.

Passed away quietly in Richland, Wash., as the result of a paralyzing stroke. She was 92 years old.

Annie was born at home in Humbolt, Tenn., on April 15, 1915 to W.C. and Nannie Hammond. She lived in West Seattle for 66 years.

James (Jim) E. Cooksey

James Edgar Cooksey, 85, a long time resident of Auburn, WA. passed away at the home of his son in Southern California of natural causes. Jim joined his wife, Barbara Jean Cooksey, on Friday September 7, 2007. Jim and Barbara were married 58 years before her sudden death on November 24, 2004.

He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on December 16, 1921 to Edgar E. and Lucille L. Cooksey. In May 1942, he proudly began serving our country in the US Coast Guard as an anti air-craft machine gunner and depth charge operator.

Of Redmond, Ore., died August 15 of natural causes at the age of 101. A private memorial service was held September 22.

Mrs. Peterson was born January 15, 1906, in Minneapolis, Minn., and spent most of her childhood years on a farm in eastern Montana. She lived in Ballard over 50 years where she also owned a beauty salon on Market Street. While her daughters were school age, she was active in PTA and Girl Scouts; she was also a member of Ballard First Lutheran Church and the Swedish Club.

Upon retirement, Mrs. Peterson moved to Scottsdale, Ariz.

A pioneer of modern U.S. fisheries in the North Pacific died Sunday in Seattle. Peterson was among a handful of fishing leaders credited with expanding American fisheries beyond traditional nearshore waters to compete with and ultimately displace the foreign fleet from the nation's fertile offshore waters.

Peterson passed away on August 19 after a long struggle with lung disease. He was 78.

Rudy spent his life dedicated to the independent fisherman. Rudy was a charter member and served as president and director of many fishermen's associations.

Mary Ann Marinich, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jovanovich and beloved wife of Anthony Marinich, passed away suddenly on Sept. 10, 2007.

Mary Ann was born in Roslyn, Wash., on July 8, 1941. She graduated from Highline High School, attended the University of Washington, and worked for the Bon Marche for many years. She married Anthony Marinich on Sept. 9, 1967. They had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Mary Ann was an active member of the West Seattle and Crestwood Garden Clubs, the Croatian Fraternal Union, the Y.L.I.

Ernest G. Eder, 45, left us September 10 to be at peace with his mother. Ernie will be remembered for his soft-spoken nature and witty character, his willingness to help all those in need, but most of all for his genuine selflessness. We loved Ernie unconditionally; we loved Ernie for who he was. He will truly be missed.

Al passed away September 2 after a very short battle of metastasized colon cancer. Born in Cle Elum Washington, December 31, 1919 to Mary Sciacero and Dominic Martin Pricco. Al is survived by his sister Esther Schaute, and was preceded in death by his brother Atillio Pricco (10/21/93). Family members: First wife, Margaret (Peggy) Parsons (preceded him in death 2/21/07) - together their children are: son, Martin Pricco (Heidi) Parsons and daughter, Diedre Pricco Parsons. Their grandchildren are: Martin Parsons, Quentin Parsons, and Angela Parsons.

A 98-year-old resident of Providence Mount St. Vincent in West Seattle, died September 12, 2007. She was the beloved mother of Raymond (Joan) Petit, Sammamish, John (Marlene) Petit, Renton, and Mary (David) Rogge, West Seattle. She enjoyed the company of 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Proceeded in death by husband, Raymond L. Petit, sisters Edith Mutter and Jessie Smith, and brothers William, Fredrick, and Edward Mutter.

Fanny was born on November 30, 1908, in Uxbridge, England.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Rodney (Mike) Earnest came to Alki Point in 1927 when he was five years old. He grew up with a love of the winds, the tides and sailing. He and neighbor boys built and raced sailboats, learning skills that influenced their lives.

Mike bid a final farewell to Alki on Wednesday, August 1st.

He is survived by his wife Natalie (Penny); his three children Conrad, Matthew, and Greta; and two grandchildren, Miles and Clara.

Penny and Mike spent 40 years in Woodstock, New York where they raised their family in the Catskill Mountains.
