Early Tuesday, near the Junction hardware store, two white males in their 20s walked up behind a 51-year-old homeless woman and began hitting her with boards. They stole her purse, which contained nothing of value, and ran northbound on 44th SW. Bleeding from the head and mouth, she was taken to Harborview for treatment.
An Arbor Heights man was booked into King County Jail after the Anti-Crime Team raided his residence (which belongs to his parents) and found multiple grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, a scale and drug paraphernalia. He will be held for investigation of drug charges with intent to deliver (dealing). The team also visited a second nearby residence and found additional cocaine and paraphernalia. The residents there were interviewed and released. And on 21st SW, the team shut down a marijuana grow operation and booked a 54-year-old into King County Jail for investigation of possession/dealing. In addition to the pot, officer found $3,000 in a locked briefcase and seized it, along with a Mercedes parked in the driveway. The man claimed he didn_t know how the plants got into the house.

Concerned because her 12-year-old son is increasingly out of control and threatening suicide, a local mom called police. After speaking with the boy and seeing multiple holes punched in the walls of the home, an officer contacted the Crisis Clinic for assistance. They arranged to send a Children's Outreach Crisis Team to the home for a visit and evaluation.
Driving past a Roxbury gas station around 2 AM Monday, an officer saw a woman take a swing at another with a closed fist. The two seemed _highly intoxicated,_ according to the officer, and sat on the bumper of the officer's car, alternately crying and yelling at each other. They resisted being separated for questioning, but as one officer walked away with one woman, she spun around and struck him in the face with her hand and keys. When the first officer turned to help, the other woman jumped up and approached the struggle, against orders to stay put. The woman who hit the officer was handcuffed, and the other was 'assisted' into the rear of a patrol car. Once inside, she began kicking the windows. Both were transported to the Southwest Precinct, repeatedly claiming that they were minors and didn't have to answer any questions. Their parents arrived and confirmed that the seemingly intoxicated girls were 19. Both were booked into King County Jail, one for investigation of obstruction and one for investigation of assault (against the officer).
Two residents were concerned after seeing a man walking through Lincoln Park kicking trees, trashcans, and anything else in his path. Officers questioned the man who made odd statements, whose demeanor swung from argumentative to cooperative, and who says he has considered hurting himself in the past. Noting his lack of hygiene and that he had only a light coat in his possession, the officers felt he was unable to care for himself. He was transported to Harborview for a mental evaluation.
