When the 39-year-old left King County Jail after serving time for a domestic violence incident, he immediately returned to his wife's home—despite the no-contact order that barred him from seeing her for ten years. For four hours he kicked and beat his wife (in front of the children), slamming her head repeatedly into the bathroom sink, and threatening to kill the kids if they called police. When the landlord stopped by and knocked on the door, a daughter was able to whisper what was going on. Officers were called, but before they arrived the suspect stole his wife's keys and $1,000 rent money. He fled to a nearby neighborhood where officers found and arrested him. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault, threats to kill, robbery, unlawful imprisonment, probation violation, and court-order violation. His wife was transported to Harborview for treatment. The landlord told officers that he would immediately change the locks on the door to help ensure the family's safety.
On Thursday a man assaulted his girlfriend but fled before officers arrived. The woman was told to call 911 if he returned. Later that night he kicked in the door, chased her through the house, pulled her hair, and threw a metal lock at her before fleeing. This time officers advised the victim to stay elsewhere for the night. Her response? “I'll think about it.”
Neighbors called 911 to report that a stranger was on the porch of a home, trying to open the door. Officers spoke with the man, who was clearly intoxicated. He admitted that he had been drinking with friends and that he wasn't quite sure where he was. Checking his identification, the officers told the man that he actually lived a block away. They escorted him safely home.
Driving by a Highland Park market, officers noticed two highly intoxicated men harassing customers. One was wanted on a $2,500 assault warrant and was booked into King County Jail. The other man was trespassed from the premises.
Checking on a Level 1 sex offender, a Department of Corrections officer discovered that the man's apartment on 15th SW is vacant. He has not registered a new address and he has not registered as homeless.
