Police Blotter Week of 4.6.09: It's my party

Officers went to a home in the 600 block of Northwest 79th to investigate reports of a party in a “supposedly unoccupied residence.” They found an intoxicated 19-year-old man and several juvenile girls trying to clean up broken glass and other remnants of a party. It seems that the girls and their father had just recently moved out. But the girls and friends drove by and found around 20 young people partying there. They were trying to clean up the damage so that dad wouldn't be “angry.” The girls were released to their father.
A resident of a Crown Hill apartment was dismayed after some of her laundry was missing from the laundry room. She was told that the area had been cleaned out in preparation for an inspection and that all items had been thrown away. She filed a police report in case she wants to later go to small claims court.
Late Thursday, an Hispanic male, stocky, aged 25-30, walked into a fast-food restaurant in the 5300 block of 15th Northwest. He displayed a long-barreled handgun and demanded money. K9 units weren't able to get a track on the suspect, who remains at large.
A Ballard resident was surprised to see that someone gained access to his credit card information and purchased a number of items in Bulgaria.
On Friday afternoon, someone called in a bomb threat to a Ballard manufacturing business. Employees were evacuated for a time, but nothing suspicious was found.
Fred Meyer staff called for police assistance when a shoplifting suspect didn't have any identification. Officers discovered that the man was wanted on a Department of Corrections no-bail escape warrant and on a $10,000 misdemeanor warrant from the city of Seattle. He was booked into King County Jail.
Overnight Thursday, someone punched a hole in the front window of a business in the 1700 block of Northwest 56th.
Overnight Wednesday, someone stole the building plans and permits from a construction site on Northwest 70th.
Surveillance video from a grocery in the 8300 block of 15th shows a heavy-set white female wearing a plaid jacket stealing a wallet from a customer's handbag while it's in a chopping cart.
Two roommates got in a tussle when one lit up a cigarette inside the home. (Smoking is banned by their rental agreement.) Liquor was involved, punches were thrown, and one roommate allegedly choked the other. The choker was booked into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault.
A Ballard woman doesn't remember much after she agreed to get a bite with a former acquaintance. She does know that after a few sips of a Bloody Mary that she woke up in her car in the University District. Concerned that she had been drugged, she drove herself to Harborview for tests. She's been told to contact police if the test results show any proof of foul play.
Sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday, unknown persons broke into a home in the 6500 block of 23rd Northwest and stole jewelry and an Ipod. The burglars apparently pried open a rear window to gain access to the home.
