A Seattle Police officer arrived at Northwest Hospital at 5:12 a.m. to find "Owen" in the emergency room with several abrasions to his forehead, bruising on his left cheek and a sore head.
Owen told the officer he had been at a house party in Greenwood earlier that morning. During the party, approximately 10 men were asked to leave but were unwilling to do so.
After the 10 or so men left the house, Owen heard guns shots outside. He attempted to get the guests inside the house to avoid stray bullets.
While Owen was standing in the yard, one of the men, known to Owen by a "street name," approached him, starting a verbal altercation that ended with Owen being punched in the face.
The man continued to punch Owen in the body. After being hit in the head with a beer bottle, Owen fell to the ground where he was kicked and punched by several of the men.
After the assault, Owen left the party and returned to his residence in Shoreline. He called 911 to make a police report and was told he needed to return to Seattle in order for an officer to respond. He went to Northwest Hospital for observation, and police responded there.
After his interview with Owen, the police officer went to the Greenwood house and heard music coming from it. When the officer knocked on the door, the music was turned off, but no one answered the knock.

"Harry," an employee of a Greenwood store, told police a man entered the store and said, "Get over here. Give me what's in the register."
When Harry refused, the man shouted, "Get over here," and pulled a gun from his waistband. The man replaced the gun in his waistband without pointing it at Harry.
"Go ahead and shoot me," Harry said to the man.
The man told Harry he would be back and fled the scene on foot.

Sam told police he believes the thief cut the lock on the front gate to enter his property.
