The West Seattle Junction Association is set to host the 43rd annual West Seattle Summer Fest from July 11–13, right in the heart of the West Seattle Junction. This event, described as one of Seattle's most cherished summer traditions, is a free, 3-day street festival that is expected to attract over 50,000 attendees. The festival aims to showcase the best of local shopping, live music, food, and family-friendly fun.
Organizers anticipate an estimated 10,000+ people daily will attend the event. The festival site will involve street closures including California Ave SW from SW Genesee St to SW Edmunds St and SW Alaska St from 42nd Ave SW to 44th Ave SW.
The 2025 Summer Fest is packed with features:
• More than 160 local vendors and food trucks will be on site.
• A bustling beverage garden will be available.
• An expanded Kids Zone is planned.
• There will be two stages offering live music.
The Main Stage, located on California Ave, will feature headliners like Reignwolf, Jenn Champion, New Constellations, and West Seattle's own THEM performing on Friday and Saturday nights. The Main Stage music is scheduled to run until 11 PM on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the Main Stage will transition to host the West Seattle Farmers Market. Meanwhile, the Westside Stage, located in Junction Plaza Park, will continue with music until 7 PM on Friday and Saturday and until 4 PM on Sunday.
The expanded Kids Zone promises significant family entertainment, featuring five different inflatables4. Activities will be offered by groups including West Seattle Arcade, Seattle Reign FC, and Craft Labs Seattle4. Additionally, Natalie’s Orchard Island Juice Co will be providing free juice samples. Throughout the weekend, street performers will also be entertaining attendees in the All-Ways Junction intersection area.
Shopping and dining are central to the festival experience. Attendees can explore outdoor retail booths along California Ave. Along Alaska St, there will be eateries and pop-ups featuring a "food court" area with tables, chairs, and shade. Neighborhood merchants will also participate with sidewalk café extensions, in-store promotions, and exclusive offers throughout the Junction area.
A key focus for the 2025 event is sustainability. West Seattle Summer Fest is committed to being zero waste. To support this goal, all food vendors are required to use reusable serviceware, and drinks in the beverage garden will be served in reusable cups. The festival will also provide free water refill stations located throughout the event area.
Chris Mackay, Executive Director of the West Seattle Junction Association, emphasized the event's significance, stating, “This event is about more than just music and food—it’s about celebrating the heart and soul of our neighborhood.” Mackay added, “It’s an opportunity to come together, connect, and enjoy all the things that make West Seattle special.”
The festival is designed to be a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where music, food, and community spirit are paramount5. Organizers highlight that there is something for everyone, whether you are a family, a longtime local, or visiting from outside the area.
The event is produced by the West Seattle Junction Association (WSJA), a nonprofit dedicated to developing, promoting, and advocating for programs that create a safe, beautiful, and vibrant Junction for local businesses and the community to thrive. The WSJA is known for producing several community events throughout the year, including Wine Walk, Harvest Fest, and Hometown Holidays, and partners with other local groups on programming.
