On Sunday, June 22, Mode Music and Performing Arts will host its biggest celebration of the year: the School’s Out Benefit Show — an all-ages concert spotlighting the young musicians, educators, and local artists who help shape the future of music in our city.
With a 22-act lineup featuring Mode students, current and former teachers, and some of Seattle’s most exciting performers, the event highlights something rare and powerful: students sharing the stage with the very mentors who taught them to play.
The concert takes place at The Neptune Theatre, offering many young musicians their first opportunity to perform in a major Seattle venue — a meaningful moment for performers and families alike.
The show raises funds for Mode’s private music lesson scholarship program, which helps ensure access to high-quality music education for kids throughout West Seattle and beyond — regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
“This is about more than putting on a great show — it’s about showing kids what’s possible,” said Mode founder Erin Rubin. “We’ve got young students playing their original music, side by side with their teachers and role models. It’s a reminder that music doesn’t just change lives — it connects them.”
