West Seattle’s Admiral Theater rolled out the red carpet on Friday, November 7th, for a special screening of the powerful documentary, A Matter of Time. Drawing more than 100 attendees, the event served as both a celebration of the film's production and an urgent call to action to find a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

The documentary, directed by Matt Finlin and featuring an original score by Broken Social Scene, is far more than a typical concert film. While it includes electrifying live music and centers on Eddie Vedder’s solo performances at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall in October 2023, the production masterfully interweaves these acoustic sets with the real-life struggles and stories of families, researchers, and advocates fighting EB.
A Matter of Time blends art and activism, described as a tapestry of resilience, showing how determination and innovation are driving progress toward a cure.
The Human Element
The core mission of the film is to raise critical awareness and funding for EB research. Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a rare, debilitating genetic skin disease that causes extremely fragile skin, often painfully described as "as delicate as butterfly wings". Children born with the condition endure constant blistering, wounds, and chronic pain.
The film shines a light on the human impact of the disease, featuring stars like Eddie and Jill Vedder, Rowan Holler (age 10), and the late Deanna Molinaro. The proceeds from Eddie Vedder’s featured 2023 solo concerts went entirely to the EB Research Partnership (EBRP), the nonprofit organization co-founded by Jill Vedder. Jill Vedder shares her personal journey into EB advocacy within the film, emphasizing the resilience of the affected families.

After the Screening
Following the special screening, key figures involved in the documentary and the fight against EB took the stage to answer questions. The post-movie discussion featured stars Eddie Vedder and Jill Vedder, along with key documentary subjects and advocates.
Attendees heard directly from:
• Rowan Holler, age 10, a star of the documentary.
• Matt Finlan, the film’s Director.
• Michael Hund, CEO of EB Research Partnership (EBRP).
• Dr. Jean Tang, a leading researcher.
A Matter of Time is fundamentally both a concert film and a humanitarian documentary, utilizing the platform of Eddie and Jill Vedder to spotlight EB, amplify patient voices, and accelerate the search for a cure. (It is noted that the film had its world premiere earlier at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 12, 2025, which included a special acoustic performance by Eddie Vedder.
