Whisky West at 4751 California Ave SW which for nearly a decade has been a West Seattle fixture, a place touting more than 500 varieties of Whisky is about to reinvent itself.
Under the direction of owners Colin and Donna Pickering, the 21 and over status will be gone and families will be welcomed, pending approval by Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board.
Already in place are the barriers to the bar area, required by law, which still seats 22 people. That means 128 more people of all ages can come in.

They made the move to better take advantage of the large space the restaurant/bar offers meaning family celebrations, sports teams and other groups can now come in. "We must get two or three calls a week asking if we are open to people under 21, so now we will be," Colin said.

Their main food menu will remain largely the same (see it HERE) with a mix of appetizers, salads, rice bowls, sandwiches and burgers, all elevated above standard bar fare.
Donna said they have developed a children's menu too but it's subject to change as they hear from customers and add more items.

"It just makes it so much easier for the customer and less labor intensive for us too," Colin said.

They made their reputation as a Whisky bar of course and that remains. "It was just time to reinvent the space so in a neighborhood like West Seattle families and groups with children could be part of the story." Colin said.
