“It was a momentous final week of 2025 to see that plant-based meat can be made fully continuously, automated in high volumes and with considerably reduced labor compared to conventional methods,” said Christie Lagally, Founder and CEO of Rebellyous Foods.
While Rebellyous is known for its soy-based nuggets, patties, and tenders, the company’s "other mission" has always been manufacturing innovation. In the early days, the team operated out of a no-frills environment—even setting up desks in an unused freezer—where a team of experts in robotics and physics used 3D printers and complex mathematical formulas to redesign how plant-based meat is made.
Democratizing Alt-Protein
The company’s focus on engineering is driven by a stark environmental reality: meat consumption is rising, and commercial meat production is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. Rebellyous aims to provide a "strong alternative" that is widely available by lowering production costs.
