A fire destroyed a home at 9258 34h SW on Thursday January 22. The fire of unknown origin broke out shortly before 2pm. Two adults, a teenager and two dogs were in the home at the time. They are the homeowners.
One dog escaped with the parents and their daughter, the other was found later in the home. His body was taken by caring neighbors to the nearby Resting Waters to be handled.
The teenager said, "I was in the basement and then I hear my mom scream, came upstairs and saw the fire."
More than 23 units responded to the scene. From the degree of damage and amount of smoke the house appears to be a total loss.
