Now you have a chance to provide feedback on the planned light rail stations at Delridge and West Seattle Junction through a City of Seattle initiative.
The City of Seattle’s Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD) and the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) have officially launched a new Station Area Planning initiative. This effort is specifically focused on the West Seattle Junction and Delridge neighborhoods, aiming to guide growth and development around proposed light rail stations.
As Sound Transit expands light rail across the city, the City is partnering with residents to ensure these areas grow into transit-oriented neighborhoods that are walkable, sustainable, and inclusive. A "station area" generally refers to the neighborhood within a 10-minute walk (approximately a half-mile) of a future station. The planning process will help communities build a shared vision for the future by identifying priorities for infrastructure, housing for all, and a strong local economy.
Community members who live or work in these areas are encouraged to share their insights to ensure future investments reflect local values. This input will inform Community Action Plans, which provide a 20-year framework to guide positive change and development.
How to Get Involved
The City is inviting the public to participate through neighborhood-specific surveys and interactive maps. Feedback is being accepted through March 27, 2026.
Beyond the surveys, community members can also share ideas on an interactive map for Delridge and West Seattle Junction or sign up for email updates to stay informed about upcoming engagement opportunities
