On September 24, 2026, West Seattle gathered at The Hall at Fauntleroy for the 21st Annual Taste of West Seattle. The event raised more than $58,000 for the West Seattle Food Bank between ticket sales and sponsorships. This signature event, a two-decade-old tradition, offered guests a unique opportunity to sample local culinary delights while providing vital support for the food bank's work with local households.

This year's "Taste" expanded its palate by including food trucks alongside its traditional lineup of restaurants, wineries, and breweries. This addition highlighted the increasing diversity and creativity within the West Seattle food scene. Robbin Peterson, the Development Director at the West Seattle Food Bank, noted that the event "really captures what makes West Seattle special," serving as a hub where local businesses and residents united to make a difference for neighbors requiring support.

Throughout the evening, attendees sampled offerings from dozens of vendors and voted for their favorites in various categories. Winners were honored with trophies presented before the event's conclusion. Beyond the competition, the event served a deep philanthropic purpose: all proceeds supported the West Seattle Food Bank’s mission to provide food, clothing, emergency assistance, and essential services to thousands of families.

The Foodbank released a statement today:

"The West Seattle Food Bank extends a huge thank you to the vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and community members who made the 2026 Taste of West Seattle a success!

This year's Taste raised $58,128 to support the West Seattle Food Bank's work providing food, clothing, rent and utility assistance, and other essential services to our neighbors.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community. The event would not be possible without the local restaurants, wineries, breweries, food trucks, and other vendors who donated their time and delicious offerings; our generous event sponsors; the volunteers who kept the evening running smoothly; and every guest who purchased a ticket, entered the raffle, made a donation, and came out to celebrate with us.

With new shoppers coming through our doors every day, we're seeing firsthand that the need for food and other basic assistance continues to grow. Anyone who would like to help put the Taste over the milestone $65,000 mark can make an online donation to the West Seattle Food Bank. For anyone inspired by the Taste and the generosity of our community, your support can continue beyond one wonderful evening.
