Meet the candidates at the Alki Communty Council Candidate forum at Alki United Church of Christ Oct. 15.
The Alki Community Council will host a public candidate forum and emergency preparedness presentation on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Alki United Church of Christ.
The event kicks off with a cookie social from 6:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by the official welcome and call to order at 7:00 p.m.. Prior to the candidate discussions, Hollie Stark from the Seattle Office of Emergency Management will present on new Alki tsunami signs and emergency preparedness from 7:05 p.m. to 7:25 p.m., including a live question and answer portion.
The Candidate Forum begins at 7:30 p.m. and will highlight candidates across three local seats:
- King County Council District 8: Teresa Mosqueda and Nick Duda, both confirmed to attend.
- WA State House 34th District, Position 2: Joe Fitzgibbon and Mary Anito, both confirmed to attend.
- King County District Court West Electoral District Judge Position 1: Nyjat Rose-Akins, who is confirmed to attend, and Bardi Martin, whose attendance status was listed as pending as of October 2, 2026.
Each race is allotted 17 minutes under a standardized, moderated format. Candidates in each race will receive four minutes for individual introductions, followed by three shared questions with 90 seconds allotted per candidate per question. Questions will be crafted by the ACC board based on the top three issues submitted in advance by local residents. If all six candidates participate, the candidate portions will total 51 minutes plus transitions.
The Alki Community Council is a nonpartisan organization and does not endorse candidates.
The event will take place at 6115 SW Hinds Street in Seattle
