The West Seattle Coin Laundry will close for the last time Nov. 15.

The laundromat at 2338 California Ave SW in the Admiral District is closing forever November 15.

The sign in the window reads "What Happened? We were informed in June that our lease was not going to be renewed
Why? We don't know but it is likely due to the number of unhoused neighbors who used this location and our inability to staff the store.
This location has never made enough to support an attendant."
According to staff at Mud Bay, (part of the same building complex) people have been seen touring the business recently. They were told that the Kumon Learning Center just down the block is closing as well but we have not been able to confirm this.
The laundry has been operating for decades in that location and has been owned by Scrubbs.
A check of Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) public records for 2338 California Ave SW indicates no active Master Use Permit (MUP) applications, design review submittals, or major construction/demolition permits currently on file for the parcel.
