Update for Oct. 11
Duane Starkenburg, the man accused of attacking female joggers in Lincoln Park, pleaded not guilty to an unrelated charge of first degree child rape on Oct. 11, according to the King County Prosecutor's Office.
Starkenburg is charged with the alleged sexual assault of a 9 to 10-year-old female victim 10 years ago. The allegation arose while Seattle Police detectives were investigating the jogger attacks.
Starkenburg remains in jail on a $500,000 bail and has a case setting hearing on Oct. 25 for the child rape charge.
He is set to go to trial on Nov. 29 for charges related to the alleged jogger attacks.
Update for Sept. 27
King County Prosecutors have charged Duane "Eddie" Starkenburg, in the news recently for allegedly tackling women joggers at Lincoln Park, with first-degree child rape.
Starkenburg, 46, is charged with molesting a girl around age 10 sometime between April 2000 and April 2002. The victim’s mother came forward to police recently as they were investigating the Lincoln Park indecent liberties cases, according to court documents.
The following information comes from the charging documents filed against Starkenburg:
The victim’s single mother was told by a friend that Starkenburg could do handy man work for a “good price” and although he didn’t follow through with the repairs, Starkenburg and the woman started dating.
The woman said Starkenburg started hanging out at the house more often and helping her 10-year-old daughter with homework.
One night the mother went to bed early with a migraine, leaving Starkenburg with the girl. Court documents state Starkenburg allegedly molested the victim that night. The victim told police the molestation happened more than once.
The daughter told her mom what happened, but the mother did not tell police at that time. She broke up with Starkenburg after that night.
The victim, now 20, told police she always got a “weird, creepy vibe” from Starkenburg when he started coming to the house.
Starkenburg is being held on $500,000 bail and is scheduled for an Oct. 11 arraignment at the Regional Justice Center in Kent, according to prosecutors. UPDATE: Arraignment will be held at the King County Courthouse, not the RJC in Kent.

"I like to exercise. I go down to the park to exercise, I ran into a few people."
He goes to trial for indecent liberty charges related to the Lincoln Park attacks this December.
This story will be updated when prosecutors make their decision on filing charges in the child rape investigation.
