Highline School District employee Daniel G. Lumlung pleaded not guilty to third degree attempted child rape in King County court on Nov. 28, according to court documents.
Lumlung, 34, is accused of allegedly asking a 15-year-old girl to perform oral sex at a Kent park after meeting her in an online chat room.
King County Judge Mary E. Roberts issued a pretrial restraining order requiring Lumlung to stay 500 feet away from the alleged victim until Nov. 16, 2013.
Additionally, Lumlung was ordered to have “no contact, directly or indirectly in person, in writing, or by phone, personally or through another person with all minors except his own children,” according to court documents.
On Nov. 28 Lumlung’s attorney David Marshall withdrew himself. In Marshall’s place, Ali Nakkour of the Freedom Law Firm took over as the defendant's attorney.
A case setting hearing was set for Dec. 8, where a trial date will be set. Lumlung posted bail in the amount of $50,000 on Nov. 17 and has been out of jail since that time.

King County Prosecutors have charged a 34-year-old Highline School District teacher and coach with attempted child rape.
Daniel G. Lumlung, a physical education teacher at Cascade Middle School in Shorewood and girls volleyball coach at Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines, is alleged to have met with a 15-year-old girl at Lake Meridian Park in Kent on Oct. 22 where he asked for sexual contact.
According to charging documents, Lumlung allegedly contacted the girl through an online chat service and set up the park meeting.
The girl agreed to meet up and brought her two younger brothers to the park since she was child sitting for her mother. The girl told police Lumlung allegedly asked for oral sex repeatedly and asked her to pose in sexual positions.
The girl refused the advances.
Lumlung then allegedly asked her to meet him in a public bathroom at the park at which time she took her brothers, ages 5 and 6, and left.
Two days later she received an email and instant messages, allegedly coming from Lumlung, that said, in part, “you left the park without saying goodbye … hope you are cool. let me know what’s up!”
Court documents show the girl refused the advances again and told Lumlung “he was a stranger and too old” before blocking his online profile from further communication.
The Kent detective assigned to the case obtained a search warrant to track down the person behind the online profile. Through his investigation, the detective discovered the profile had the entire Mount Rainier girls volleyball team added to its contact list and inquired with members of the volleyball team. Lumlung was identified by a team member as the only one that would have the entire list.
With their name in hand, police arrested Lumlung on Nov. 15. According to court documents, he admitted to meeting with the victim at Lake Meridian Park and asking her for oral sex. He also acknowledged that he believed the girl was still in high school but said he never asked for her age. He denied asking her to join him in the bathroom.
Additionally, charging documents claim Lumlung told police he answered personal ads on Craigslist, kept secrets from his wife “and received pornographic photographs of adult women via the Internet and his Yahoo! account.” He denied any such communications with other minors.
Highline Schools spokeswoman Catherine Carbone-Rogers told Seattlepi.com Lumlung was placed on administrative leave after the school district was advised of the investigation by Kent Police. She said the parents of students where he worked have been notified.
Lumlung will be arraigned in Kent on Nov. 28, according to the King County Prosecutor’s Office. He has no prior criminal record and has worked in the Highline School District since 2005.
