Information from Seattle Police Blotter
#2025-233613/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch/F2:
At 6:37pm on Thursday, a resident in an SHA Complex (9400 block of 27 Av SW) was angry that his upstairs neighbor was making too much noise.
He went upstairs and knocked on the door to the noise maker’s unit. The suspect (as he later turned out to be) attacked the victim with a knife and only missed stabbing him because the blade got caught in the jacket of the victim.
The 81-year-old victim fled down the hall.
The suspect chased him and began beating the victim with a broom handle causing significant injuries to the victim. The suspect was arrested without incident. Suspect was transported to KCJ, then HMC, and eventually should be transported back to KCJ and booked therein. 252 screened the incident.
After watching BWV more closely it was determined the suspect also committed a hate crime against a witness that attempted to intervene.
Emails were sent to the bias crime coordinator (as well as the other units) and charges adjusted at KCJ.
