The release of the timeframe for the reopening of the West Seattle Bridge came as a relief to some on June 9 and upset many others who had been figuring on a July opening based on SDOT's "mid-year" assurances.

Information from Seattle Department of Transportation

During the Community Task Force meeting June 9, the Seattle Department of Transportation explained that the West Seattle Bridge would remain closed unit the tentative reopening the week of September 12.

After what wil be more than 906 days of closure and more than $100 million spent to repair it the West Seattle Bridge will finally reopen the week of September 12 SDOT said today.

 Today, law enforcement agencies in King County announce they will increase patrols from June 10 to June 11 to monitor for drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The Seattle Department of Transportation is holding what they expect to be their last of a 2 year series of meetings today at 4pm with the Community Task Force set up in June of 2020 following the closure of the West Seattle Bridge.
