Other coaches should worry

Since the Seattle Times article exposing the fact Chief Sealth has student athletes attending school that do not live in the schools "Geographical Area," I have read one article after another calling for firing the coaches, taking away championships, even having disgruntled parents comparing (Baseball) Major League "alleged" steroid using athletes to these kids.

These kids are not criminals and the comparison between the two is appalling!

I do however believe there is more to this issue than is being reported by the Seattle Times and/or any other news media here in Seattl

Buy a horse

This morning, I read another one of those forwards about striking against two of the big three oil companies to fight the war on rising gas prices and thought to myself, I should add to the mayhem over our war on terror and rising gas prices, and tell folks that in a recent meeting of some top dogs in the fuel industry, my notes when I took minutes (to myself of course) was to buy a horse.

Most of us Americans want our cake and our frosting together; talk about spoiled.

Our many stairways

People who take morning runs or afternoon strolls around West Seattle are happy for the public stairways that help them climb the steepest hills in the city.

The stairways have linked West Seattle neighborhoods for the past century. Today they bring medical benefits in the form of exercise terrain. Countless runners and walkers map their routes to include (or avoid) particular stairways around the Duwamish Peninsula.

Public stairways are built in the right of way of city streets in places where the land is too steep for a street.

The Washington State Department of Transportation has ruled state funding for a "no build" option for replacement of the ailing Alaskan Way Viaduct would not be available.

"Funding now committed by the Legislature is not available for the 'no replacement option'," wrote Doug MacDonald, Secretary of Transportation, in a three-page letter to Seattle Councilmember David Della.
