Tips on riding Metro buses

(Editor's Note: This was Tim St. Clair's last story for the West Seattle Herald. Tim was a regular bus rider to downtown and about anywhere else. He did this story just a short time ago.)

With gas prices topping $3 per gallon, there are a lot more people riding buses these days, said a Metro bus driver, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Metro recently released figures showing ridership was up 7 percent between 2006 and 2007. That translates into an average of 365,000 boardings per weekday.

Tim will live forever

Tim St. Clair would have hated this edition of the West Seattle Herald. The only place Tim thought his name should be in the newspaper was in a byline. He would have complained that too much was given to one side and there was no "other side" provided to readers.

No Tim, there is no "other" side because we can find no one in this community, nor in Utah from which you sprang, nor from anywhere Tim St.

Tim St. Clair, 1950-2008

Tim St. Clair, 57, a legend in West Seattle journalism and 20-year West Seattle Herald reporter died Monday night, Feb. 25, a victim of pancreatic cancer.

The outpouring of grief, comment and concern for his family and friends was overwhelming both in scope and depth.

St. Clair had been moved that day from Swedish Hospital to Virginia Mason's Bailey-Boushay House. Tim worked for the Herald and Robinson Newspapers for what would have been 20 years later this year.

"Tim St Clair was the consummate reporter," said Publisher Jerry Robinson.
