Update July 2

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed three charges against a defendant in connecting to the recent Alki shooting: second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault. Milton Arnold ,19, is being held on $2 million bail.

Seattle Auto Licensing celebrated it's grand opening on June 30 at Westwood Village.

Owned by Randy and Robin Lais who also own the Port Orchard License Agency (opened there in 2011) the business now provides title and license services for vehicles, motorcycles, vessels, watercraft, travel and utility trailers. You can also renew registrations, get a report of a sale, get trip permits and disabled placards.

Randy also offered, "Quick Titles will begin the moment we have the state's computer software programmed for our office. We are honored to have the opportunity to support the West Seattle area. We will do you proud."

Where: West Marginal Way, north of the Highland Park Way SW Intersection

When: Work will start as early as 2 a.m. and last as late as 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, June 30.

Closure Details: One lane will be maintained in each direction during the work. Please expect delays and drive slow through the area.

Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crews are planning on doing urgent pavement repairs on West Marginal Way just north of Highland Park Way SW to repair pavement that has buckled in the extreme heat.

Crews will begin work at about 2 a.m. on the early morning of June 30 (tonight) and expect to be done by 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, June 30. During repairs, West Marginal Way will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.

One man was killed and three others were shot late Monday night at Alki Beach.

Just before midnight, multiple 911 callers reported a shooting in the 2600 block of Alki Avenue Southwest. When police arrived, a citizen was performing CPR on one of the victims. Officers took over and attempted life-saving measures, but the man was declared deceased at the scene. Two additional victims – a man and a woman – were transported from the scene by ambulance in stable condition. Another male victim was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

According to witnesses, two groups got into an argument that escalated and led to the shooting.

Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz came to the scene and asked the public for help with any information regarding this incident. "We've had over 222 shots fired in this year alone. We've got to figure out ways to keep these guns off the streets," Diaz said.
