He was finally arrested in West Seattle on West Marginal Way

Information from Seattle Police Department

Police arrested a 40-year-old man after he drove through a SODO business’s fence while fleeing in a stolen van.

Officers spotted a man driving a white van with a stolen license plate, parked in the 700 block of South Andover Street, around 7:45 p.m. and attempted to pull the vehicle over.

Rather than stopping, the driver rammed the van through a business’s chain link fence, then backed into an SPD patrol vehicle before fleeing with at least one flat tire.

King County's water taxi engineering team has installed lamp pole lights on the Seacrest dock.

On the top of these lights are solar panels that power the lights and charge the batteries that store power for these lights.

The dock did not have enough light prior to this installation. These lights were installed last week and will continue to be modified for best coverage.

Santa and his reindeer stopped by the Menashe Christmas display

A hardy group of around 50 people braved sub freezing temperatures to join Santa Claus and two of his real reindeer at the famous Menashe Christmas display on Tuesday night.

Saint Nick was there greeting children and hearing Christmas wishes as kids and their parents stood in line to feed the reindeer handfuls of raisins.

Grinch steals a little girl's bike but the community came forward to make it right

Rob Bellamy couldn't believe it. Who steals a child's bike right before Christmas? His daughter is absolutely devastated at the loss of her e-bike which a grinch swiped from Rob's West Seattle home.

"This wasn’t just an e-bike, it was an adventure with her dad’s on Sunday morning, a history lesson about the city, the people and everything they called home," Rosalind Cooper, Rob's close friend, wrote on GoFundMe. "More importantly, it was time she got alone with her dad, time that is often in short supply, but filled with memories that last a lifetime."

When Rob told Rosalind that insurance wasn't going to cover the stolen e-bike, she jumped into action and started a GoFundMe. Thankfully the power of community kindness is stronger than any grinch! In just one day nearly $1,400 has been raised to buy a new e-bike for Rob's daughter.
