A woman called 911 after midnight on June 19th to report that she had been robbed by a man armed with a gun. She described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing dark clothes and carrying a brown handgun. She told the responding officer that she was walking home from work along 85th when she saw a man standing on the corner near 6th Ave. The man approached her and said, “Give me the purse,” then grabbed her purse.
The victim told the suspect to leave her alone and go away. At this point the suspect got out his gun. The victim said that the suspect seemed to be just showing her the gun before he hit her on the wrist with it. She let go of her purse and the man ran away with it, got into a car, and drove away. None of the victim’s belongings were found in the area. Her wrist was treated for swelling but she was not taken to the hospital.

A man got into a dispute with a man armed with a Taser on the morning of June 17th, which resulted in the victim being tased. The victim told police that he saw a man playing with a Taser while talking on a pay phone along Market St. As the victim walked by, the suspect said something along the lines of, “What are you looking at?” and then threatened to tase the victim. The victim and the suspect began to argue and the suspect chased the victim. The suspect tased the victim under the chin during the struggle.
A witness at a nearby coffee shop saw the struggle and heard the sparking of the Taser as the suspect pushed it at the victim. At one point the battery fell out of the Taser, but the suspect replaced it and continued to poke the victim with it.
The victim said that he was only tased once and that it left a mark on his chin. He said that he recognized the suspect as a local transient but didn’t know his name or where to find him. The suspect was not found in the area.
