The Design Review Board will hear a proposal for 2034 NW Market Street where developers are proposing the development of is for one, 20,000 square feet office and retail building as well as one 20-unit residential building with 46 below grade parking spaces.
The Design Review Board convenes today regarding two separate building proposals along NW 56th Street.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Whittier Elementary School library, the board will hold an early design guidance meeting regarding 2034 NW 56th Street where two structures are proposed.
The proposal is for one, 20,000 square feet office and retail building as well as one 20-unit residential building with 46 below grade parking spaces.
The existing structure and surface parking to be demolished.
Neighbors are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about this project. At the early design guidance meeting, the applicants will present information about the site and vicinity. The public may offer comments regarding the design and siting of a development on the subject site; and the Design Review Board members will also offer comments and identify those Citywide Design Guidelines of highest priority in developing the site.

Following the early design guidance meeting, the Board will meet again at 8 p.m. at that same location to discuss a proposal for a seven-story building containing 96 residential units and nine live work units to replace the vacant lot beside Hjarta on the corner of 15th and 56th.
The proposal also includes parking for 97 vehicles to be provided, 40 of which will be within the proposed structure and 57 within existing Hjarta complex at 1536 NW Market Street.
This is a public Design Review Board meeting and the applicant will present information about the design and how it responds to the Design Review Guideline priorities established at the Early Design Guidance Board meeting on June 23, 2003 and Recommendation meetings on May 24 and June 28, 2004, regarding this site. The public may offer comments regarding the proposed design; and the Design Review Board members will offer to the Director of the Department of Planning and Development their recommendations regarding the design.
