A man was arrested on September 21st after making inappropriate comments to a minor the previous day. The 12-year-old victim was with his family at an athletic club on the afternoon of September 20th. He said that he was in the locker room and was about to shower when he noticed a naked man staring at him. The man made several inappropriate sexual comments to the victim, who then went and told his mother, who called the police. The suspect fled through a rear or side door in the meantime, but he was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. on the 21st. He was interviewed and booked into King County Jail on charges of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.

Police responded to a burglar alarm call at a Ballard business early in the morning of September 18th. A security guard who arrived first at the scene reported that a door had been kicked in and the suspects had left a trail of clothing coming out of the door. The manager of the business identified three locations inside the store from which the suspects had taken clothing.
Police believe the suspects threw a cinderblock through a glass door and then kicked the door out once they had entered the building. Security footage of the incident showed two suspects who appeared to be wearing gloves, but the video was too dark to identify the suspects. One of the complainants said that he believed two people were casing the business the previous week.
Those persons of interest were caught on video.

A woman called the police to report that she believed her home had been burglarized by an acquaintance. The victim had gone out with her sister and a group of friends on the night of September 16th and stayed out until about 1:30 a.m. on the 17th. She said that while they were out, her sister got into an argument with the suspect, a male acquaintance whom she had known for two months. The victim’s sister and the suspect came home separately as a result of the dispute. The sister noticed that the suspect’s car was still in the driveway when she got home.
The victim said that everyone went to bed around 1:30 a.m. Her sister woke up in the morning and found that her purse, phone, and several other items were missing. She noticed that the front door was unlocked and the suspect’s car was gone. Everyone in the group believed that the suspect and his friend had stolen the items in the night while everyone else was asleep.

Employees at a Ballard business arrived at work on September 19th to find that the business had been burglarized over the weekend. The suspect appears to have climbed over a barbed wire fence and then entered the trailer that serves as an office and a break room. There was no sign of forced entry, leading police to believe that the office door had been left unlocked. There was blood on the office phone and desk, suggesting that the suspect cut himself while climbing the fence.
The suspect forced open a soda vending machine in the break room and took the cash box, then stole about $5 in change from a box on a table. The suspect left blood and fingerprints in multiple locations. The hammer that had been used to break open the vending machine was still stuck in the door of the machine and was submitted as evidence.
Security video of the crime shows a white male in the yard between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on September 16th.

A man and his wife returned home on the afternoon of September 16th to find their garage door open. They went inside to find cabinets and drawers open and many items thrown on the floor. The burglar(s) may have entered through a window with a bad lock. The responding officer was able to open the locked window by jostling it. No fingerprints were found at the scene.
