Fri, 02/10/2012
Seattle Police reports that on February 9th at approximately 10:54 p.m. officers responded to the area of 22nd Avenue NW and NW Market Street for the report of a stabbing. Officers located two adult male victims who had both sustained non-life-threatening injuries from what is believed to be a knife assault.
Victim #1, a 51-year-old male, sustained a stab wound to the abdomen. The specifics of victim #2′s injuries are unknown at this time. Both victims were treated by SFD medics at the scene and subsequently transported to area hospitals for follow up treatment.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the assault actually occurred about one block south of where the victims were located, possibly in a park. One victim had a speech disability preventing him from providing officers with any information and the other victim was uncooperative with investigating officers. We therefore have no additional details and no suspect information.
This remains an active and on-going investigation.
Ballard sees a string of unsuccessful burglaries:
8:55 a.m. on February 5th. 80th block of 29th Ave NW
A residence was burglarized on the evening of February 4th, but nothing was stolen. The victim told police that she had left her home unoccupied between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the 4th. The following morning she found that the kitchen entry door had been damaged. The door appeared to have been kicked in, but a chain lock was still in place, indicating that the burglar was unable to enter the residence. Neighbors said that they did not see any suspicious individuals or vehicles during the time the home was unoccupied. No evidence was found at the scene.
8:49 p.m. on February 4th. 75th block of 17th Ave NW

The complainant said that she was in her house when she saw her neighbor’s motion-activated light turn on. She looked out and saw an unknown male carrying a large white object across the yard. The complainant yelled at the man, who dropped the object and ran toward a nearby alley.
The responding officer found a white lawn chair sitting right under the window where the complainant had witnessed the suspect. The suspect did not appear to have gained entry into the house. The owners of the residence were away at the time of the attempted burglary.
