Development Update: Five new applications and a design review

The Department of Planning and Development has released an update for development in the Northwest area of Seattle. There are five new projects in the Ballard area. One of these five requires a design review.
Information provided by the DPD
2216 NW 63RD ST: Land Use Application to subdivide one development site into two unit lots. The construction of residential units are under Project #6363661. This subdivision of property is only for the purpose of allowing sale or lease of the unit lots. Development standards will be applied to the original parcel and not to each of the new unit lots.
Zone:LOWRISE 1, URBAN VILLAGE OVERLAY
The following approvals are required:
Short Subdivision to create two unit lots.
9715 6TH AVE N.W.: Land Use Application to subdivide one parcel into two parcels of land. Proposed parcel sizes are: A) 5,768 sq. ft. and B) 5,388 sq. ft. Existing structures to be demolished.
Zone: SINGLE FAMILY 5000, SALMON WATERSHED
The following approvals are required:
Short Subdivision to create two parcels of land.
6711 ALONZO AVE N.W.: Land Use Application to subdivide one development site into two unit lots. The construction of residential units are under Project #6381494. This subdivision of property is only for the purpose of allowing sale or lease of the unit lots. Development standards will be applied to the original parcel and not to each of the new unit lots.
The following approvals are required:
Short Subdivision to create two unit lots.
2218 NW 63RD ST: Land Use Application to subdivide one development site into two unit lots. The construction of residential units are under Project #6393660. This subdivision of property is only for the purpose of allowing sale or lease of the unit lots. Development standards will be applied to the original parcel and not to each of the new unit lots.
5601 22nd Ave N.W.: Land Use Application to allow two, 5-story towers above a 1-story base containing 84 residential units with 21,517 sq. ft. of office and 22,199 sq. ft. of retail. Parking for 132 vehicles to be provided below grade. Project includes 21,100 cubic yards for grading. Existing structures to be demolished.
The following approvals are required:
SEPA Environmental Determination (This project is subject to the Optional DNS Process (WAC 197-11-355) and Early DNS Process (SMC 25.05.355). This comment period may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of this proposal.

The Director will accept written comments to assist in the preparation of the early design guidance through April 21, 2014. You are invited to offer comments regarding important site planning and design issues, which you believe, should be addressed in the design for this project.

PROCESS
An application for Design Review related to future development of this site has been submitted to the Department of Planning and Development (DPD). This second stage of Design Review is the Recommendation phase. At the Design Review Board Recommendation meeting, the following occurs:
1. The applicant will present information about the proposed design and how
it responds to the Design Review Guideline priorities established at the previous
Early Design Guidance meeting(s).
2. The public may offer comments regarding the proposed design.*
3. The Design Review Board will offer their recommendations regarding the design to
DPD.
4. Following the meeting, DPD will issue a written Recommendation report summarizing
the meeting. This report will be sent to those who signed in at the meeting or
otherwise requested a copy.
*Please note that public comment at the Recommendation meeting is limited to design considerations. If environmental review is triggered, comments related to environmental impacts (such as traffic, parking, noise, etc) may be sent to DPD following notice of that review.
