Burglar breaks in to party
A Ballard resident reported that while she was away someone broke in to have a party in her home located on the 900 block of Eighth Avenue N.W. On June 26 the complainant told officers she was gone for a week, and when she came home she noticed things were askew. She found drug paraphenalia and other evidence of what she believed was evidence of a party. She threw most of the evidence away before police arrived. She also told officers that the house used to be the location of marijuana grow operation and that she believed someone affiliated with the grow broke in looking for “lumber” or other growing materials. Police noticed light damage to an upstairs window. They believe the suspect climbed the gutter to get to a balcony where the suspect had access to the window. The complainant could not determine if anything was taken. No fingerprints were recovered at the scene.
Safes and rifles pilfered
A North Seattle man is missing two rifles after his home was burglarized. The burglary occurred at the man’s home on the 1000 block of First Avenue NW on June 27. He said that he came home to find his house ransacked. He reported missing two safes. One of the safes contained the guns. A witness reported a white Ford pick-up being parked at the house earlier that day. She didn’t recognize the truck and thought it was strange when she saw it back into the driveway. She reported seeing a middle-aged white male driving the truck. No fingerprints were found at the scene.
Car theft leads to home break-in
After a Crown Hill family suffered a car theft, their home was broken into the following week. On June 28 police received a report from a woman who stated her house had been burglarized. She came home with her two sons after a camping trip to find the back doors ajar. They were French doors and it looked as if the suspect pulled hard enough to break the deadbolt and gain entry to the home. The complainant told police that the week before the burglary her car was stolen. Her house keys and registration were in the car. Thinking that the car thief could have access to her home, she changed the door locks of her home. The complainant could not determine if anything was taken from her home. She did say she saw a blue sedan with Arizona place parked in front of her home multiple times during the week before the burglary. No fingerprints were recovered from the scene.
