Man mugged and assaulted while waiting for bus
Three people were mugged while waiting for a bus at the 1400 block of N.W. 65th Street on Dec. 11. The victims told police that they were sitting on a bench when three suspects walked by. Two of the suspects were female; one was male. One of the suspects asked the victims if they had seen a female walk by recently. They said “No,” and the suspects started walking away. Then one of the victims shouted to the suspects that the only female they had seen was the one male suspect. The comment antagonized the primary female suspect. She ran back to the three victims and punched the male in the head. She struck him many times. Then she demanded their wallets. The victims showed their wallets. One contained $4. The suspect took the money and gave the wallet back to the victim. Then the suspects fled. They were last seen aboard the D Line bus heading south. The primary suspect was described as a black female, approximately 17-years-old and wearing blue jeans and a black jacket. Her hair was described as short and in braids that stood upright. Police searched the D Line route but did not find the suspects. The victim who suffered the assault denied medical treatment.
Burglar steals bicycle, leaves needle and pool cue
A Ballard man is missing a bicycle after someone broke into his storage shed located at the 9200 block of Third Avenue N.W. on Dec. 13. The complainant called police after he noticed a bag of charcoal set on a shelf in the shed. He knew he had set the charcoal on the floor. He looked around in the shed and noticed his black 21-speed Novara Express was stolen. A black pool cue that did not belong to him was left in the shed. The complainant also found a lighter and a hypodermic needle outside the shed. The three items were submitted for evidence. No fingerprints were found on the pool cue. The complainant could not provide police with a serial number for the bicycle.
Motorist assaults pedestrian in Fremont
A man was assaulted in Fremont while walking home with friends on Dec. 12. The victim was with a group of friends after meeting at a local pub. They were crossing the street at Fremont Avenue North and North 36th Street and noticed a Hispanic male in his 20s waiting at the light in a black Nissan 350Z. The driver revved the engine and sped through the intersection. The victim turned to the driver and made a gesture with his middle finger. The suspect stopped the car and quickly reversed. He pulled up next to the group and got out of the car. He punched the victim in the face. Then the suspect went to his car and pulled out an axe. He said, “I will-ing kill you!” The victim tried to calm the suspect down and apologized for giving him the finger. Then the suspect fled the scene in his car. Witnesses recorded the incident on their cellphones and submitted footage to police. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
