Squatter say to homeowner: ‘I don’t care’
A Ballard man was surprised to find a squatter at his newly purchased home located on the 1400 block of N.W. 80th Street on July 7. The complainant said that he had been making repairs to the home and that no one lived there. He came by to do some work and discovered the main door was kicked in. He heard some noise upstairs. He went up and found the suspect— a black male in his 30s, around 220 pounds and six feet tall—in the upstairs bedroom. He told the suspect to leave and that he was going to call police. The suspect said, “I don’t care.” This scared the complainant, and he went out to his truck to make the call. When officers arrived the suspect had already fled. They scoured the area but did not locate the suspect.
Man beats another man with thermos, arrested
Seattle Police arrested a man after he assaulted another man with a Thermos at the 2800 block of N.W. Market Street on July 13. Police responded to the scene after someone made a trespassing report. When officers arrived they witnessed the suspect throwing a Thermos at the victim. The victim was face down on the ground. Officers utilized their microphone and spotlight and told the suspect to get on the ground. The suspect proceeded to kick the victim in the stomach and punched him in the face. Officers could see a tremendous amount of blood pooling under the victim’s face. They drew their guns and tasers as they approached their unarmed suspect. After police made numerous orders for the suspect to get on the ground he finally did. However, he struggled and cursed police as they handcuffed him. The suspect continued to struggle as officer moved him to the patrol car. The victim was treated by Seattle Fire Department and moved to Harbor View Hospital. The suspect was booked at King County Jail for misdemeanor assault and resisting arrest
