Commercial burglary on Leary Way NW
A woman called police around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 to report a burglary in the 4300 block of Leary Way NW. She explained that her employee arrived to work and noticed that items were strewn around the interior of the store. The caller said the building had been secured the night before. Officers believe the suspect took off the screen and entered through a window. The burglar took $200 in cash and miscellaneous change. Officers were unable to find fingerprints on the window or screen.
Burglars take laptop, cash and heirloom jewelry
Around 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, officers were dispatched to investigate a burglary in the 6200 block of 4 Ave NW. The victim said an unknown suspect entered the house and stole multiple items between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry, and he believes that he locked the door before leaving. The burglar took two laptops, an iPad, a gold chain with a diamond pendant and $150 in cash. He said a neighbor has a security camera and he would check to see if any images of the crime were captured. Officers did not search for fingerprints, because the residence had already been cleaned.
Burglars sporting motorcycle helmets steal property on 14 Ave NW
Officers received a call about a burglary around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5. When they arrived in the 5500 block of 14 Ave NW, they met the victim, a manager of the facility, who said that the crime occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Video surveillance showed two men, wearing motorcycle helmets entered through the garage door. They damaged five interior doors with a pry tool, before gaining access to a storage room. They took an unknown amount of property, belonging to unknown victims. The property manager said that she would contact the victims and ask them to report exactly what was missing to the police.
Alarm sounded on NW 49 St
Around 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, officers responded to an alarm call in the 900 block of NW 49 St. They arrived to find the door partially open and then searched and cleared the building. The shop was clean and well organized and did not have any signs of being rummaged through. There were, however, two open file cabinet doors. Officers did not see any pry marks on the door or door frame.
