information from King County Sheriff
The Tyee High School administration learned that a student had posted social media photos with a weapon over the weekend, there were no threats at all towards students or the school.
As soon as the student arrived at school this morning, he was searched by school security. A weapon was recovered and police were called.
The school was put into lockdown as a precaution while police and security looked for a friend of the student.
There was no indication that the friend had a weapon, but the search was done out of an abundance of caution. When it was determined that the friend was not on campus, the lockdown was lifted.
Student was arrested and booked into the Youth Service Center.
Why did they not do something sooner over the weekend then wait to bring it to school????
