According to the King County Sheriff's office detectives at the SW Precinct, were outside in the back lot, on Sunday afternoon when they heard a shot being fired near the front of the police station.
Detectives and Deputies located a female lying on the ground outside. They moved up to the female to check on her and she got up and walked toward her vehicle parked nearby. Detectives were able to talk to the female and detain her in handcuffs before she got in her car.
Found inside her vehicle was a loaded handgun. The female confirmed that she had fired a shot and “wanted to die”. The female was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation. It is unknown at this time where the shot went that she fired.
No one was injured in this situation. A great job by Detectives and Deputies to use CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) to talk the female into a peaceful resolution and get her the help she needed.
