Edna (Mundt) Nyberg was born in Rosalia, Wash. on November 17, 1916 to Henry and Amalia (Wernz) Mundt, receiving her early education there and graduating in 1934 as valedictorian of her class. She then attended Cheney Normal School (now Eastern Washington University) in Cheney, Wash., and upon graduation began her career as a teacher in Chewelah, Wash., about 50 miles north of Spokane.
Norma Lee Ross passed away on Feb 5, 2008, in Burien at Highline Medical Center. She was born Sept 25, 1933, in Ottawa, Kansas.
Norma is survived by her brother Willis Dean Crawford and his wife Judy of Oskaloosa, Kansas, surrogate daughter Alalie and Patrick Monaghan. Norma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Leo D.Ross, and son Ronald D.Ross. Norma had two nieces, two nephews, and five great-nieces and nephews, all of Oskaloosa, Kansas. She had many close friends and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Donald (Don) Arthur Johnson passed away on January 13, 2008, in Anacortes. He was born in Seattle on April 22, 1932, to Leo Joseph Johnson and Frances Josephine Gorman Johnson. He was the fifth of seven children. He was preceded in death by his Parents, also his Brothers, Daniel Johnson, Francis (Bud) Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Richard Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Myrna Lou Siebens Johnson; his sister, Catherine (Earl) Hunt of Bothell; brother, Gerald (Mary) Johnson of Salem, Ore.
Jane Frances Gauthier, 82, of Seattle, passed away January 17, 2008.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and neighbor died suddenly on January 21, 2008 in his home in Federal Way. Bill was born February 18, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA. He and his family moved to Washington State in 1940 and he has lived in Federal Way for the last 40 years. Bill was preceded in death by his only son, Chuck.
Marjorie "Mae" Leininger was born as Marjorie Mae Tracy in Seattle to Oscar William Tracy and Marjory Doris Meabon Tracy on March 1, 1931.
Mae grew up in Benton City, Wash. and graduated from Kiona-Benton High School in 1948.
Mae married her high school sweetheart, Harold Ivan Leininger on June 12, 1948 in Benton City.
She was actively involved in Highland Park United Methodist Church, The Washington State Big Game Council as well as the Salvation Army.
Mae always put everyone else first, she spent the majority of her life helping others.
Darrel passed away peacefully Jan. 31, 2008 at the Bernales Home in Seattle. She was born in Sydney, Australia and lived most of her life in West Seattle.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard and beloved son Barry. Darrel is survived by sons Chris
(Nancy) and Scott (Yolanda), daughter-in-law Vidette, grandchildren Emily (Scott), Corinne (David), Evan, Kristin, Derek, Kelly, Madeleine, Rachel and dear friend Joy Shipler.
Long time Burien resident Shirley Anderson passed away peacefully Sunday, January 27, 2008. Her battle with cancer is now over. Shirley was born to Paul and Gretchen Bailey November 7, 1925, in Lynden, Washington.
Shirley met Ted Anderson and after they were married they moved to Seattle then to Burien. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper for Peter Pan Seafood's until her retirement.
In her younger years Shirley and Ted loved family outings, summer time picnics with family and friends, and camping and fishing trips.
Frosti was born in Bremerton and lived in Burien for most of her life. She was a long time employee at Longacres and Denny's in Burien. She loved nature, especially wildlife. Her life-long wish was to own a large piece of land where she could rescue and keep homeless animals, abused dogs, cats, farm animals and any animal that needed her. That was her life passion.
Preceding her in death was her son Darrin Cox.
It is with great sadness that the family of Myrtle Jean Crain announces her passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at the age of 84. Myrtle Jean Tremper was born May 24, 1923, in Cashmere, Washington, to Eleanor Mae and William Tremper.
Myrtle will be lovingly remembered by her children: Philip, David (Keitha), Daniel and Andrew (Julie). Myrtle will also be missed by her six grandchildren: Kevin (Betty), Clint (Jolene), Pam (Troy), Joseph, Erin and Greg and by her six great-grandchildren: Courtney, Jazmin, Riley, Kelton, Mason and Abbey.
