Adolph W. Young

Adolph W. Young, long time resident of West Seattle, passed away on September 8, 2006 in Seattle, WA. He was born in Anchorage Alaska on August 14, 1922. After high school he moved to Chicago, IL to attend the Sherwood School of Music where he met the love of his life Jean Brightwell. They married in Chicago on March 20, 1953. After Jean and Adolph graduated from the music school they moved to Seattle, WA where Adolph's father and two brothers resided. They settled in West Seattle and started their family.

Adolph worked for Boeing for thirty-five years as a shopkeeper.

Gertrud C. "Trudi" Smith

Passed away Tuesday, September 12th at Providence Mount St. Vincent. She is survived by her son Paul, daughter-in-law Daris, and granddaughters Jessika and Jennifer (Carlos). Gertrud was born March 5,1921 in Graz, Austria the only child of Fredrich and Christine Lang. The family moved to Linz, Austria where her electrical engineer father opened an electrical design and parts shop. Trudi was the bookkeeper for the family business. She was an avid skier and tennis player and met her future husband, Herbert Smith, on a tennis court. The couple were engaged in 1954 and married in 1955.

Maria Beldi

Born in Kronstadt, Romania October 4, 1916

Departed September 4, 2006, Seattle, WA.

Maria Beldi was born in Kronstadt, Romania. The youngest of five daughters to Julia and Johann Nedwed. She was schooled in Kronstadt and enjoyed hiking, biking, running, swimming and alpine skiing.

In 1945, the Soviet Union occupied Romania. Maria and middle sister Elizabeth stayed behind to care for their elderly mother. They were captured and forced to work in Siberian Labor coal camps.

Herbert L. Harris

Long time West Seattle resident passed away peacefully on September 14th. Herb was born in the present day ghost town of Gilmore, Idaho on December 1, 1917. He was descendent of Martin Harris who helped to found the Mormon Church. Herb's family and his mother's family, the Neville's, moved to West Seattle via Model T Fords in 1923. Herb went to Gatewood Elementary and graduated from West Seattle High School where he met and married his devoted wife, Lorraine, of 66 years. Herb was proud to have served under John D. Bulkeley on the USS Endicott DD 495 as a welder during WWII.

Geraldine "Jeri" Proszek

Geraldine "Jeri" Proszek of Auburn died Sept. 15, 2006, in Auburn. She was 72.

Born July 20, 1934, in Boston, she lived in King County for more than 40 years.

She retired in 1995 from Boeing. She was a social director at Sienna Townhomes in Lakeland (Auburn).

AnnaLee Camerer

At the age 85, AnnaLee Camerer; comforted by her loving children and grandchildren, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2006.

She loved her family, had a wonderful sense of humor, and brought joy to those she met.

She was never judgmental, accepted all who crossed her path and had a heart of generosity and service.

She was born in Shawnee Oklahoma in 1921 and grew up loving horses.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Milton Camerer.

Thomas CHAMBERS

Thomas Chambers, 61, passed away on September 11, 2006, at his residence in Federal Way.

Services were held on Monday, September 18, 2006, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Funeral Home in SeaTac.

Olive E. KIMBALL

Olive E. Kimball's life spanned over 102 years.

During her childhood she traveled with her family from Oklahoma to Arizona in a covered wagon, then moved to Olathe, Colo., where she rode horseback to school and to piano lessons. After high school, Olive lived with her sister in Ceres, Calif., working in a laundry. She met her husband, Charles C. Kimball, in Ceres and they were married on June 16, 1927, near her family home in Olathe.
