Taste and Best now open in the West Seattle Junction at the corner of Edmunds and California Ave SW will be serving the flavors of South India from 7 am to 10 pm every day. The full address is 4752 California Ave SW.
Westside Seattle was the first to report the change in our story July 3.
Owner Yajas Reddu said the Garlic naan and Tabdoori mushroom is one of their specialties, and he’s also very excited for their brunch.
The restaurant will serve pitchers of cocktails with Indian flavors as well as American breakfast dishes. “We are continuing the American breakfast and adding our South Indian dishes to it,” Reddu said.
He said several friends had suggested serving pitchers of cocktails with the brunch menu. The restaurant will have to wait 45 days for the liquor license.
Reddu and his sister have been getting to the restaurant at 5 am since they took ownership on July 1, 2026. He said they had been watching this location and hoping for a chance to start a business here for months.
Once things slow down a bit, he and his family will have a chance to explore West Seattle. He said he’s looking forward to checking out Alki Beach.
Specials - everything today is 15% off. Drink and breakfast specials will be every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday once the restaurant has its liquor license.
Westside Seattle will go back this weekend to eat a full meal for an expanded look at the new restaurant. Southern Indian is rice and coconut based. Northern Indian is wheat based. Southern Indian still has the chapati and garlic naan, but it’s more of the saucy spicy dishes.
Northern Indian has the cream-based sauces and Southern Indian is usually more vegan friendly because it’s more often based on lentils and plants
