Families new to Seattle or those with children who will be age 5 by Aug. 31, 2023 are urged to enroll their student for the 2023-24 school year at Seattle Public Schools (SPS).

Preston Anderson announced last week that he will be a candidate for the soon to be vacant District 1 Seattle City Council seat currently held by Lisa Herbold.

He released a statement on his website:

Maren Costa has announced her candidacy for the District 1, Seattle Council race. Costa made news in 2019 when she organized an Amazon Employees for Climate Justice campaign.

Heather Marx, a long time West Seattle resident, who led the effort to repair and restore the West Seattle High Rise Bridge, has taken a new job with the City of Seattle.

KIRO TV is reporting that three USPS mail trucks have been stolen recently in West Seattle.

A Design Review Early Design Guidance meeting regarding a 5-story, 100-unit assisted living facility with retail to be built by Aegis Living  with parking for 42 vehicles  is set for Feb. 2, online at 7pm.

A Design Review Early Design Guidance meeting for a 6-story, 134-unit apartment building to be called The Holden Apartments with retail. Parking for 50 vehicles proposed.
