Correction

After our article "A Half-Century of Happiness for the Olsens," appeared in our West Seattle Herald 12-29-08 issue, an Olsen family member contacted us to point out the following inaccuracies.

Jerry Olsen, Ken and Donna's son, is an electrician. Steve Hance, the husband of their daughter Virginia Hance, is CFO of Evergreen Vending, not the other way around as reported.

The Bremerton camera shop where Ken Olsen first worked was managed by Bill and Virginia LeBeau.

Update Viaduct to be replaced with tunnel, opposition speaks out

Elected leaders have decided to replace the ailing Alaskan Way Viaduct with a deep bore tunnel, ending years of debate between city, county and state officials.

Most funding would have to come from the state, with some help from the county and city. The funding plan also includes a local investment district.

About $2.8 billion has been set-aside by the state to pay for the project. The original price estimate for a tunnel was $3.5 billion.

The state legislature will still need to approve the plan, which will be presented by Gov.

A prayer was made. The sun came out. And with the snip of a bright red ribbon the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center opened its doors for business, pleasure, and a cold lesson in the realities of a tribe being placed back onto a map by those who tried to erase it and by those who continued their hereditary connection to it._

More than 200 hundred filed into the standing-room only reception hall on Jan.

Annexation could split North Highline area

"Area-X" and "Area-Y" mark the spot. That's according to Burien city manager Mike Martin, who conducted a recent open house meeting on the city's annexation project. He pointed to a map that proposes unincorporated North Highline be divided more or less into one north area and one south area.

The meeting was held at Shorewood Elementary School and nearly 30 residents attended, most from unincorporated North Highline.
