National Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, October 27

On Saturday, October 27th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm the Seattle Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 16th opportunity in eight years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  Bring your pills for disposal to any one of the five Seattle Police Department precincts.  (We cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.)  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Nearly 250 temporary parking spaces open up under viaduct; Viaduct comes down in January

Three week closure of viaduct will precede removal

There are plenty of new parking spaces along the waterfront. WSDOT’s contractor Kiewit is almost finished creating close to 250 parking spaces beneath the Alaskan Way Viaduct.

You can reach these spaces via the northbound local-access lane beneath the viaduct. These 4-hour, back-in angle parking spaces will be in place until the contractor begins preparation for removing the viaduct in early 2019. Our Alaskan Way page contains a map of the new street alignment.

White Center Food Bank Charity Auction Nov. 16 will offer some special items

Join Meat the Live Butcher and renowned auctioneer Fred Granado for the White Center Food Bank Live Auction Nov. 16 at the White Center Eagles.

Doors will open at 3pm with dinner at 5pm. Tickets are $15 or reserve a seat for $25.

There will be a drawing for a scooter at 8pm.

Live music and more are part of the party but your help is needed. Donations are needed!

Gift baskets, gift cards/certificates/ wine, Seahawk gear are needed for the Silent Auction but direct donations can be dropped off at the Live Butcher 9432 16th Ave. SW 

Among the items up for auction are a custom kids Pedal Car decked out in Seahawk colors with roll and pleat upholstery, a SIGNED limited edition Fender Guitar from one of the founders of The Ventures, Don Wilson. two mounted canvas photographs from West Seattle's Patrick Robinson and much more.
