7-11 on Harbor Ave SW robbed again, this time a lady flashed a knife

information from Seattle Police Department

#2022-061748/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 03-12-2022 at 3 am, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the 7/11 on Harbor Ave SW.

The caller reported multiple people involved who had fled at the time of the call. Upon arrival, officers contacted the clerk who advised that a group of subjects had come into the 7/11 a short time earlier.

While one paid for a beverage at the counter, another grabbed alcoholic beverages and lighters as well as health and beauty products and then left the store without paying.

The clerk verbally challenged her to pay for the items as she left.

As this female suspect passed through the exit, she lifted her shirt and exposed a short knife in her waistband.

Two vehicles were associated with the suspect, and both fled prior to officers arriving.

An area check for the vehicles was negative.

Architects release new Tyee High School Design

information from Highline Public Schools

Integrus Architecture released the results of their work this week with the Tyee Design Review Committee of the new Tyee High School. The images represent the 100% schematic design phase of the architects' work.

Next is the design development phase, in which the architects meet with different end user groups at the school, plus department and facilities staff to finalize more levels of detail and confirm needs. Then the design will go through a value engineering and cost reconciliation process.

The design development work for a new Tyee High School is expected to be completed by June. The 2016 school bond is paying for these design phases.

New bus stops for West Seattle routes

Metro King County recently opened two new bus stops on Alaskan Way on the waterfront for routes that serve West Seattle, including bus routes 55, 56, 57, 113, 120, 121, 125 and the RapidRide C Line.

These stops provide better access to the stadiums and Pioneer Square.

The northbound bus stop is at South Jackson Street, and the southbound bus stop is at South King Street. Last month, Waterfront Seattle completed installing new roadway markings on the east side of Alaskan Way, allowing King County Metro buses to begin using the new northbound transit lane.

Bus shelters will be added this summer.

Campbell Building in the Junction up for sale for the second time in over 100 years

Home to Cupcake Royale, nine apartments, and several other retail tenants it was granted landmark status in 2017

The Campbell Building at the corner of Alaska Street  SW and California Ave SW in the heart of the West Seattle Junction is on the market for only the second time in over 100 years.

It was granted landmark status in 2017. But according to the listing agent Jay Azose of Azose Commercial Properties of Mercer Island, it's possible to preserve the facade, (the brick two story original appearance on the street) and then develop the property. "Is it is easy to do?" he said, " No, but someone will do it. There's too much pressure for property up there."

"Mr. Campbell originally bought the land for $300" Azose said.

There are no offers as yet on the property but it was just listed.

Here's the Landmarks Preservation Board report on the property.
