Update, April 1, 7:30 a.m.

Mark Jamieson from the Seattle Police Public Affairs Unit confirmed the stabbing incident.

At around 4:23 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, a 50-year-old man was stabbed in the back on NW 54th St and 14th Ave NW.

He and his girlfriend had some kind of argument, she pulled out a knife, threatened him and stabbed him in the back.

The cut itself was "very, very minor," Jamieson said. By the time police arrived, the man was already being treated by Seattle Fire Department. The man then went to Swedish Ballard for further care.

The girlfriend was not found on the scene, but police have her contact information. Most likely, the case will be transferred to the City Attorney for consideration, Jamieson said.

We received a tip from Ballard News-Tribune reader Silver that a man was stabbed in the back on NW 54th St and 14th Ave NW earlier today and that the female suspect was seen running eastbound on 14th Ave NW.
