A Ballard bank reported that it had been robbed on the morning of September 14th. Officers arrived at the scene and found that the two suspects had fled. Police interviewed numerous witnesses, and one said that he saw the suspects change clothes. Another reported seeing the suspects get into a cab. Officers contacted the cab company and learned that the suspects had been dropped off at a motel on the 24th block of Aurora Ave N. Several units, including SWAT, K-9, and Robbery Detectives, went to the motel and caught both suspects after they tried to sneak out of the motel. The suspects are set to be booked into King County Jail on robbery charges.

A man called police on the afternoon of September 9th to report that burglars had entered his home through an open window and stolen several items. Both doors of the residence were locked from the inside when the victim returned home, suggesting that the suspects also exited through the window. One of the items taken was a 40” flat screen TV, leading the responding officer to believe that there were at least two burglars, because it would have been difficult for one person to get such a large TV out through a window. Several other electronic devices were also stolen. No fingerprints were found at the residence.

A man was arrested in the middle of the night on September 8th after he stole a beer from a gas station mart by threatening the clerk with what turned out to be a hose nozzle. The suspect walked into the mart and got a beer, and when the clerk told him how much it cost, the suspect put his hand in his pocket to suggest that he had a gun. He demanded money, cigarettes, and beer. Another customer walked into the store and the clerk used the opportunity to call 911. The suspect then left the store, but officers soon located him in the parking lot of a nearby motel. A pistol-grip hose nozzle was found in his pocket. The clerk positively identified the suspect, and the suspect was booked into King County Jail on robbery charges.
