Born January 26, 1933, in Michigan to David Hazlett and Dorothy (Ritchie) Hazlett. Passed peacefully July 20, 2020. Raised in Omak and graduated with the Omak High School Class of 1951. Attended Western Washington University where she met Richard McGlothern and wed in 1953.
Preceded in death by her parents David and Dorothy Hazlett, and her brother David Hazlett.
Yvonne Miller Long, Seattle, WA passed away peacefully in her sleep July 19, 2020 at the age of 84. Words cannot express what she meant to her family and all who knew her.
Born December 13, 1935 to Harry and Geraldine Theresa (Huehn) Willson in Albany, CA. Her Dad, whom she longed to see again, passed away April 1946 when she was 11 years old. Her Mom, Gerry, married Robert William (Bob) Gribben in 1948.
A lifelong Seattleite, Dorothy passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2019 at 93. She was born at Seattle’s Providence Hospital, graduated from West Seattle High School in 1944, married Carl in 1950, and raised three children. The family spent summers camping and enjoying the family beach cabin on Vashon/Maury Island.
Richard C. Alger, known to most by “Rick,” passed away June 26, 2020 at the age of 76, with his family by his side. He was a long-time resident of West Seattle, and was the son of Frank Alger, the original owner of Spud Fish and Chips. He and his wife Terrie continued running the business on Alki Beach. Rick most recently had been enjoying his retirement with his wife Terrie, and best friends in Belfair, Washington. Rick loved to go fishing on the river, crabbing, digging clams, playing in his boat, and having fish fry’s with all his neighbors and friends on the shores of Hood Canal.
Charles Francis Vercammen was born in Butte, Montana on April 10, 1934 to Minette and Leopold Vercammen, Sr. His brother Lee preceded him in death. Chuck is survived by Sue, his wife of over 61 years, and three children, Miki, Mark, and Matthew Vercammen. He is also survived by his nephew Carlo Vercammen. Chuck served in the Army, served his family, his church and his God. He was always interested in sitting down and having a cup of coffee. He genuinely cared about people. Chuck died peacefully in his home, on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020.
Norene Reich passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on June 2, 2020 at her West Seattle home at The Kenney. A devoted and loving daughter, aunt, mother, and grandmother, Norene was beloved by all who knew her. She was known for her sunny, positive outlook on life, her devotion to family and friends, and her terrific wit. A child of the Great Depression, she saw life's challenges merely as obstacles to be overcome through one's positive attitude and sense of humor. Undeterred by the recent pandemic, she kept the family laughing and smiling during their weekly video calls.
Jeff passed away peacefully from complications due to Covid-19.
Graduating from West Seattle High School in 1978, Jeff loved hockey and tennis, playing both at a high level through high school. He so enjoyed being with family and friends along with watching movies, hockey and tennis. He and his family had struggled with his schizophrenia for 42 years. Throughout, Jeff never lost his sense of humor and easily made friends wherever he lived.
Born in Wilks-Barre, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1929, Robert F. Geary passed away on April 9,
2020 after a brave and valiant battle with Cardiac and Pulmonary illnesses.
Butch passed away on May 12, 2020. He was born in Detroit, MI to James and Anne Mullins. He is survived by his loving partner Barb, his mother, and by three younger brothers: James, Floyd, and John, and four sisters: Barbara, Nora, Frances, and Evelyn. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1973. He served six years in the Army.
He loved his metal fabricating job at Capital Industries. His life's passion was fishing and the outdoors. He loved telling stories. Butch loved to tinker and fix all sorts of things, including making tons of fishing flies.
Elva May Kuch passed away on April 27, 2020 at 7:30am.
She was born in Bremerton, WA on October 27, 1930 to Albert Luxton and Lola Murphy Luxton. She lived in various towns growing up…. Bremerton, Tahuah, Astoria… but mostly on the west side of Puget Sound. Her mother died early in her life, and she was adopted by her stepmom Alice Castle Luxton. She had two sisters, Myrna LaFazia and Grace Ashe.
