Obituaries

Charles Francis Vercammen was born in Butte, Montana on April 10, 1934 to Minette and Leopold Vercammen, Sr.  His brother Lee preceded him in death. Chuck is survived by Sue, his wife of over 61 years, and three children, Miki, Mark, and Matthew Vercammen. He is also survived by his nephew Carlo Vercammen. Chuck served in the Army, served his family, his church and his God. He was always interested in sitting down and having a cup of coffee. He genuinely cared about people. Chuck died peacefully in his home, on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020.

Norene Reich passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on June 2, 2020 at her West Seattle home at The Kenney.  A devoted and loving daughter, aunt, mother, and grandmother, Norene was beloved by all who knew her. She was known for her sunny, positive outlook on life, her devotion to family and friends, and her terrific wit.  A child of the Great Depression, she saw life's challenges merely as obstacles to be overcome through one's positive attitude and sense of humor. Undeterred by the recent pandemic, she kept the family laughing and smiling during their weekly video calls. 

Jeff passed away peacefully from complications due to Covid-19. 

Graduating from West Seattle High School in 1978, Jeff loved hockey and tennis, playing both at a high level through high school. He so enjoyed being with family and friends along with watching movies, hockey and tennis. He and his family had struggled with his schizophrenia for 42 years. Throughout, Jeff never lost his sense of humor and easily made friends wherever he lived.

Born in Wilks-Barre, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1929, Robert F. Geary passed away on April 9,
2020 after a brave and valiant battle with Cardiac and Pulmonary illnesses.

Butch passed away on May 12, 2020. He was born in Detroit, MI to James and Anne Mullins.  He is survived by his loving partner Barb, his mother, and by three younger brothers: James, Floyd, and John, and four sisters: Barbara, Nora, Frances, and Evelyn.  He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1973. He served six years in the Army. 

He loved his metal fabricating job at Capital Industries. His life's passion was fishing and the outdoors. He loved telling stories. Butch loved to tinker and fix all sorts of things, including making tons of fishing flies.  

Elva May Kuch passed away on April 27, 2020 at 7:30am.

She was born in Bremerton, WA on October 27, 1930 to Albert Luxton and Lola Murphy Luxton.  She lived in various towns growing up…. Bremerton, Tahuah, Astoria…  but mostly on the west side of Puget Sound.  Her mother died early in her life, and she was adopted by her stepmom Alice Castle Luxton. She had two sisters, Myrna LaFazia and Grace Ashe.  

Yvette McKee of West Seattle, Washington, was lost to pancreatic cancer at age 72 on April 25, 2020. She was a strong and determined woman, never willing to give up the fight. She touched our lives as a mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Yvette left this world in the comfort of her home and in the company of family, knowing that she was loved. 

Dick was born in Eureka, CA and peacefully passed away on April 25, 2020 after an 11-year battle against Prostate Cancer. He was married to Margaret Geraldine Mostoller (Gerry) for 64 years. 

Thomas C. Kintner, passed away at his home in Seattle on April 6, 2020, at the age of 73. He was a loving husband, father, grand dad, brother, uncle, and friend.

Born in Yakima, WA to Carroll E. Heffron, Sr. MD and Anne Catherine Mooney Heffron. Mic attended St. Paul’s Catholic Grade School and Marquette High School in Yakima. After graduating from Central Washington College, he worked as a case worker for the Washington State Welfare Office in Yakima and later as a Juvenile Detention Probation Officer at the Child Welfare Office. In 1968, he moved the family to Seattle where his career in Healthcare began as the Assistant Administrator of Mount Saint Vincent Senior Care Center.
