Buford Jolly

Buford passed away August 29 in Burien after 99 wonderful years.

He is survived by his daughter, Pat Eisley, and grandsons Jeff and Craig, all of Michigan.

He was a life member of the Elks and many Masonic organizations.

Friends joined together in celebration of his life on September 5, 2007, at the El Dorado West Retirement Community in Burien.

Gilbert Charles Heinzel

Loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Gilbert was born July 19, 1919, in Oshkosh, Wis., and passed away September 4, 2007, in Des Moines at the age of 88 years.

He is survived by his sons Michael Heinzel and Steven (Deborah) Heinzel, daughter Susan Richards, sister June Vogds, seven grandchildren, Shelley, Kathy, Mandy, Kelsey, Zachary, Devin and Spencer, and six great-grandchildren.

Angela J. House

Longtime Ballard resident died, August 30, 2007 at age 77, in Marquette, MI.

Angela was born Sept. 21, 1929 in Italy and came to the United States on April 11, 1959. Throughout the years, she worked primarily as a caregiver.

Survivors include her son, Patrick (Mary Ann) House of Marquette, MI; two grandchildren, Cora and Michael House; a sister and brother in Italy; and several nieces and nephews.

No services will be scheduled.

The Fassbender Funeral Home is serving the family.

Theodore Walter Weber

Theodore Walter Weber, 90, passed away August 27, 2007. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne, and daughters Nancy and Chris, all of Seattle, a brother, Herb, of Chicago, step-children Greg, Gary and Lori, and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 6, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, SeaTac

Rita P. Phillips

Rita P. Phillips passed away August 26, 2007. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, Rita was a life long resident of the New Orleans area and retired from Godchaux's. Rita then moved to Burien in 2003.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Lem Gardner Phillips, and a brother, Richard A. Palmer of Luling, Louisiana. Rita is survived by nieces Pamela P. Smith of Normandy Park and Deb Curry.

There will be no services at Rita's request.

Mary E. Kosmach

We laid to rest our loving mother who entered heaven peacefully on August 27th, after a long battle with lung disease. She was preceded in death by August (Kossy), her loving husband and best friend of 56 years. Mary was born Jan 8, 1926 to Aytch and Margaret Griffin in Moorhead, Minnesota. They moved to Seattle when she was a teenager and she graduated from Holy Rosary High School. Mary met Kossy, her sailor, in the Drift On Inn in the late 1940's and they married May 6, 1950. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother who provided unconditional love and guidance.

Vernita M. (Nita) Dugan

Passed away August 20, 2007 at age 89 after a long struggle with emphysema and most recently lung cancer. Born on St. Valentine's Day in 1918, Nita grew up in Seattle and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1936.

Before getting married, she worked at Woolworths and the Coon Chicken Inn. She married Leonard Dugan in 1941 and was the mother of three daughters. In her early years, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, knitting, making doll clothes and playing the piano.

Denzil Ireton

Age 59, died August 16, 2007, at Whidbey General Hospital, after a long battle with COPD, with his lady Kay-ce by his side.

Denzil came to Seattle from Idaho, finding his calling in creative hair design. He loved to compete and achieved recognition in national and international hair shows. Denzil was the first person to introduce synthetic nails to the state of Washington.
