Age 79, was born and raised in Austin, Minn. Oct. 4, 1927.

At 18 he was drafted to the Korean War and returned west, to Seattle, where he met and married Lorraine in 1951. He was a longtime resident in West Seattle and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church from the very beginning of the Parish. He helped build the school and church where his family attended. He worked at Hormel & Co. for 40 years and was loved and respected by all that knew him.

Born in Sidney, Nebraska on July 5, 1928, she died peacefully, and unexpectedly, in her sleep on August 20, 2007.

She is survived by her four children, Michael Plant, Kathleen Hunt-Paez, Vicki Hunt, and Claudia O'Neill; one son-in-law, John O'Neill; two daughters-in-law, Karen Hunt and Poorly Plant; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Denver Hunt; her son, H. David Hunt; and her grandson, Michael Wayne Thompson.

A Memorial Eucharist Service/Celebration of Merril's life will occur on Sunday, September 2, at 2 p.m.

Monroe Perrine

Fran died August 7, 2007, after a long struggle with dementia.

Fran was born March 19, 1923, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to Paula Lange (Clough) and Perley Monroe Bartlett. She and friend Carol (Buck) Scheerer came west to stay for a year, both married, Fran to M. Jordan Perrine, and almost became Westerners. Fran put her experience to use at Boeing Flight Test and became a shift supervisor. On "retiring" to home she bore daughters Jill Elizabeth Tiffany and Rebecca Ann Perrine.

Longtime West Seattle resident and neighborhood native, died July 16, 2007 at Virginia Mason Medical Center after a stroke. Born on January 22, 1927, he was the son of Canadian ﾎmigrﾎs James Nelson Woodside and Carol Gavinjack Woodside whose home was on Palm Avenue Southwest. for many years.

Was born in Seattle, March 31, 1928 and passed on July 6, 2007. Residing most of her life in West Seattle, she was a "Gulch Girl" and attended West Seattle High, class of 1946.

She enjoyed bowling, was a long time member of the West Seattle Eagles, a Den Mother for the cub scouts, a licensed hairdresser, and a gifted artist.

Age 80, passed away peacefully at home with her family on August 12, 2007. Born April 7, 1927 in Everett, Betty grew up and attended school in West Seattle.

Her career began as an elevator operator in the days of uniforms and white gloves. She went on to work at Society Candy, Bemis Bag, Henry House Meats, and Northwest Envelope. She retired from American Envelope in 1994.

A West Seattle resident for over 60 years, passed away at his home on August 1, 2007. He was born on October 6, 1925 in Plano, Mo. He moved to Seattle in 1943 and worked for a short time at Boeing before becoming a well-known contractor. Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Peacefully passed away surrounded by family in West Seattle on July 21, 2007.

Eve was a fun-loving, spicy and feisty well-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
