Obituaries

Marie Royer, a longtime resident of Burien and Des Moines, passed away May 30, 2007. She was 91.

Marie was born November 1, 1915, on her parents' farm home in Gove County, Kansas. She and her husband moved to Burien in 1956. After his death in 1971 she moved to Southshores Condominiums in Des Moines. The last three years she resided at Normandy Park Assisted Living in Burien.

Marie, lovingly called "Grammie" or "Grams," was always available to her family. She was active in Bible Study Fellowship and Precepts Bible Studies for many years.

Bradley M. Hawthorne, age 51, died June 4 after a short battle with lung cancer. He lived most of his life in McMicken Heights, graduating from Tyee in 1973.

He was a mechanic for the city of Tacoma.

He leaves behind a wife, Ines, son Emilio, daughter Elaine and son Jason in the Navy. He is also survived by his sister Wendy Easter, husband Mel, and their sons Caleb and Braden.

His funeral was held June 7 at Washington Memorial Bonney Watson.

On the morning of May 17, Judge Paul F. Bonnell passed away due to complications from a stroke. He was 81 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Bonnell, who died on Easter Sunday in 2003.

Paul was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Trenton, Neb., to Frank and Jessie Bonnell. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1944. Though the war ended before he saw action, Paul remained in the service until 1946. He then attended the University of Washington, where he met Lorraine Young.

Brockerman

Barbara Mae (Billie) (Cameron) Brockerman passed away May 30, 2007. Barbara was born October 24, 1931. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and life-long resident of the Waterland community.

Mrs. Brockerman attended Sunnydale Elementary. She was a talented cake decorator who started at the family bakery, B and E Bakery, and continued on with her talents at 5 Corners Albertson's until her retirement.

She loved to garden and spend time with her family. To everyone she was known as "Gram." Everyone was welcome into her home.

Pauline Marie Grams lost her battle with cancer on May 26, 2007. She was born in Bremerton on July 7, 1921, graduated from Bremerton High School in 1939, and on September 13, 1941, married her high school sweetheart, Larry Grams.

Pauline was involved with Camp Fire Girls of America, P.E.O., faithfully followed her children in their activities and enjoyed camping with family.

After Larry died in 1981 she resided with her daughter in Normandy Park and started a child care in the home. Pauline loved caring for children.

Wesley Huit, age 89, of SeaTac, passed away May 12, 2007. He was born in Oregon and was preceded in death by his father, Fred Huit. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mabel, and two half sisters, Maureen and Colleen, of Oregon.

Mr. Huit served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Tech-Sergeant. He was an employee of Boeing Airplane Company for 27 years. He also owned and operated his own business in George, Wash., in the mid-sixties, where he was very involved in community affairs.

Dick "retired" from his life journey on May 31, 2007. Dick was a life long Machinist, serving in World War II and Korea with the U.S. Navy; Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9) Mattson retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1973.

Tannehill

Michael, age 51, was born August 11, 1955. He passed away May 21, 2007. Mike will be remembered for his service to family, friends and strangers, his love of nature and his ability to fix anything with anything.

Mike, we love you and will miss you. Your time here was well spent.

He will be missed by his loving soulmate, Tami Sahli, his mother Mary, siblings Kenny, Linda (Colson), Steve, Bobby, Patty (Boyd), Kathleen (Bailey), John and their families.

A long time resident of Federal Way, Margaret (Peggy) Eichholtz, passed away at Point Defiance Village in Tacoma on May 27, 2007. Peggy was the only child of the late James and Leila Austin of Seattle, WA. She was born in August 1920 and lived in Seattle up to and including graduating from the University of Washington.

She is survived by her husband, Philip and four children: James W., William P. of Federal Way, Philip A. of California and her only daughter Olivia Williams of Walla Walla, WA, and six wonderful grandchildren.

Willard C. Julum died suddenly May 9, 2007, of a heart attack at Lake Tapps. Services were held May 15 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Auburn, and he was buried at Gethsemane, Federal Way.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean Payne-Julum, sons Brad of Olympia and Blaze of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; daughter Darcie (Billy) Jacobsen of Lake Tapps; four grandchildren; and sister Marian Julem-Weaver of Seattle.

He graduated from Highline High School as ASB president in 1951.

He and his best friend Ken Leingang enrolled at Eastern Washington University.
