Esther, 80, passed January 22nd after a stroke three days prior. Born to German immigrants in Chicago. Married Alvin Chrisman in 1946, moving to Seattle where he worked as a Boeing engineer. Active in PTA, Assoc. for Childbirth Education, Seattle Art Museum volunteer, and 50 years at Fauntleroy Community Church (UCC). Enjoyed traveling, photography, hiking and bridge. Survived by Paula (Jim) Oas, Carol (Curtis) Troll and Neil (Carolyn) Chrisman, nine grandchildren and sister Violet (Bob) Halleman. Proceeded in death by Alvin in 1988.

Eleanor B. Downing, 86, a retired Highline School District employee, passed away on Jan. 21, 2006.

She is survived by a sister; and her four sons, Bert of Kirkland, Roger of SeaTac, Mark of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and Phil of San Diego, Calif.

Services were held at Crista Nursing Center in Seattle on Saturday, Jan. 28.

At the age of 92, Fred passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2005. He was a man of few words with a heart of gold. Those who knew him will always remember his gentle smile and generous nature.

Born in Kimball, North Dakota on Feb. 24, 1913, Fred moved out west as a young child with his family and settled in Washington where he loved the moderate climate and beautiful scenery.

Richard "Dick" G. Baker, 77, passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2006, in Seattle.

Dick is survived by his brother Dean and his wife, Marilyn Baker, and sisters Belle Thompson and Irla and her husband Lester Thompson, and several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his sister Janet Collins.

Edris L. Halvorson, 81, a long-time Des Moines resident, died Jan. 22, 2006.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis (Ray) Beazizo, Don (Charlotte) Halvorson, Sue (Ron) Schriner, Janise (Bill) Drisdow and Nancy (Adrian) Johnson, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-granchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Kent Covenant Church under the direction of Marlatt Funeral Home of Kent.

Des Moines resident Linda Guadiz, a devoted wife and cherished mother, grandmother and sister, left this life Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006.

She was born June 27, 1944, in Atoka, Okla., the sixth of seven children, to Lee and Ruth (Woolard) Nevills.

She always said she went to college to get her MRS degree, but graduated from Oklahoma Christian College in 1966 with just a bachelor's degree in History.

After teaching middle school briefly in Topeka, Kan., she joined the Air Force in 1969 to see the world.

Born December 10, 1964 in Stavanger, Norway, passed away on January 16, 2006 in Seattle, WA. John was a lifelong resident of Ballard before going into the Navy. He loved boating, skiing, diving, camping and computers. John was a friend of many and an enemy of none, and left behind many many friends and relatives who will miss him dearly. John leaves behind his daughter Ashlee and his love, Roxanne and daughter Natalie. He is also survived by his father Harald Sollesvik and his brothers Mike, Scott, Bob and sister, Ringer, two half sisters, Janehild and Gloria.

William was born January 10, 1924 in Seattle, WA. He died January 16, 2006 at the age of 82. In college, William was part of the Navy ROTC, and a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity at the University of Washington and also graduate from the U of W. He worked in education for 30 years, working as a principal in the Puyallup, Anacortes, and Parkland School Districts, and then finishing his career in the Federal Way School Dist. as an Assistant Superintendent in Charge of Personnel. William was a member of Rotary and he enjoyed taking time to go Steelhead Fishing.

Darrell A. Walter 59, died January 17, 2006 after a long hospital stay. He graduated from West Seattle High School in 1965 and from Puget Sound Christian College in 1970. he was ordained into the ministry in 1971. Survived by wife Diane, mother Merilyn Walter, sister Darlene Firpo (Len), brother Donn (Sabine) and Doug (Elizabeth) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Walter.

Memorial service will be Saturday January 28th at 10 a.m. at West Seattle Christian Church 4400 42nd Ave SW, Seattle.
