July 7, 1950 - August 4, 2005

We are sorry to report the passing of Robert Daniel Gagnat on August 4, 2005. Rob was born in Eugene, Oregon on July 7, 1950, and moved while very young to West Seattle where he lived with his father Robert (Bob), mother Hazel, and older sister Susan. The family moved to the Sunnydale area in 1957, long before 12th Ave. S became the third runway at SeaTac. During the 1950s and '60s, Sunnydale, with its creeks, small farms and many fields and gullies, was a peaceful and fun place for kids to roam.

WALBAUM

Vicky Deanne Walbaum was the wife of 41 years to William E. Walbaum; Mom to Kristi, Marylynn and Nicole; Nana to Alex, Shane, Katelyn and Colby; and sister to Malcolm.

At the age of 61, Vicky left this life to be with her parents Gilbert and Gert Rorke and her brother Doug. After a nearly five-year battle with cancer, peace and comfort were finally hers on Aug. 20.

A celebration of her life was held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at St. John's Episcopal Church in West Seattle.

August PETERSEN

Henry was born Aug. 1, 1911, in Seattle, and passed away Aug. 8, 2005, at the age of 94. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Merchant Marine. Because of his involvement with the Burien Elks Club, he received awards for outstanding lodge participation and contributions to the Elks Therapy Program for Children.

He resided in Burien with his family for 63 years while he owned and operated the family pharmacy, Mayrand Prescription Drugs in Seattle.

Roy G. McKinney, age 85, passed away on Aug. 22, 2005, in Burien due to lung cancer.

Roy is survived by his two sons, Buck (Maureen) and Danny (Linda) McKinney; a daughter, Vicky Pike; five grandchildren, Amy, Lonny, Joyce, Corey and Chris; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry McKinney (Ruby); two sisters, Lucille Kidd and Louise Nelson (Arne); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, in 1999.

A committal service was held Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial in SeaTac.

GAGNAT

October 13, 1930 - August 10, 2005

Audrey died peacefully at home in Burien after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind her daughter, Pam Abken and granddaughter, Stephanie.

At Audrey's request there will be no service. Donations may be made to Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Long-time West Seattle resident, Ruth J. Chappell, 84, died August 1, 2005, in Rathdrum, Idaho, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 18, 1920, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Helga Rasmusson from Denmark and Oscar K. Larson from Nebraska.

On June 18, 1938, Ruth married Howard F. Chappell in Papillion, Nebraska. They moved to West Seattle in 1940. She worked as a secretary for Boeing and retired in 1977.

Robert Lloyd Wilson died August 11, 2005, at the age of 88. Lloyd was born June 19, 1917, in Josephine, North Dakota. He married Myrtle Elaine Moon December 1945 and they resided in West Seattle for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife, sons and their wives Larry and Leslie Wilson, Kenneth and Christine Wilson,, foster son, Don Deems and wife Darlene three grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, and Allison, great grandson, Benjamin, and siblings Dr. Arthur Wilson and Mabel Johannesson.

He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Age, 34, Born April 22, 1971 in Seattle, WA to Bruce & Rose MacCollom. She unexpectedly passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005 and her Mother, Rose Marie MacCollom, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004; exactly one year to the day of her mother whom she loved very much. Deanna was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Marie. Deanna Graduated from West Seattle High School in 1989, As her Mother and Sister Shawna had. Deanna worked at TODD Shipyard where she met her special friend Ron Sykes.

She attended SSCC in hopes of becoming a nurse.

Estalene Beatrice (Brace) Rinnert passed away peacefully, on Thursday July 7, 2005 in Gig Harbor, WA. She was age 87. She was born January 12, 1918 to William E and Margaret (Bowmaker) Brace in Elbert Colorado. She married Myrven Rinnert of Kiowa, Colorado, June 29, 1937 in Golden, Colorado.

Myrven and Estalene lived in several places during their 58 years of marriage- CO, NM, CA and WA.
